Instead of the traditional lunch block schedule that A.C. previously used, where four lunches would go in shifts, there is now one 74-minute lunch period. Students can use this time to get work done, see teachers and friends, in addition to eating lunch.

Sophomores Transition to Alexandria City High School Campus
With nearly four weeks of school complete, students are beginning to get into a comfortable rhythm of balancing classes and everyday school hassle. But it was not always that way. After an entire school year of zoom calls and loads of seemingly endless virtual activities, the majority of us find ourselves back in the building. But for the sophomores, the transition to the Alexandria City High School campus seemed more nerve-racking than ever.

School Formerly Known as T.C. Williams: 5 Months Later
On April 8th, 2021, after facing a social justice movement in the summer of 2020, the Alexandria City Public School’s School Board voted a unanimous “yes” to change the name of the only public high school in Alexandria from T.C. Williams High School to Alexandria City High School.
