“The French Dispatch” Review
Wes Anderson’s latest movie, The French Dispatch was released Friday, October 22. The movie is an anthology of stories from the final issue of an American newspaper outpost in France, and is set in the fictional french city of Ennui-Sur-Blasé. The French Dispatch, a fictional Sunday supplement was inspired by The New Yorker, and many of the characters were inspired by famous writers and journalists.

Friday, November 5 was the opening night for the Alexandria City High School Theater Department’s latest production, “Facing our Truth: 10 Minute Plays on Trayvon, Race, and Privilege.” The production consisted of six 10-minute plays related to the death of Trayvon Martin and the verdict in the trial of the man who killed him, George Zimmerman.

2021 Rolling Loud Festival Recap
Rolling Loud is one of the largest hip-hop festivals and was founded by business partners Tariq Cherif and Matt Zingler. It occurs every year in different locations in the United States. It began as a one-day event in Wynwood, Miami, Florida in 2015 and has now expanded to a 3-day festival that stars different artists every year. General Admission tickets begin around $400, and all ages are permitted.

Each place we visited was rated on a scale from 1 to 10 in three different categories, the highest ranking being a 30 and the lowest a 0. Texture, taste, and density were the three categories under evaluation. Though we went for muffins, the atmosphere and pricing were also part of our concern about the perfect Del Ray muffin.

Written and directed by Greta Gerwig, the movie is a coming-of-age story that documents a high schooler's troubled relationships with her friends and family. The protagonist, Christine McPherson (played by Saoirse Ronan) is unsatisfied with her life at a Catholic School in Sacramento. She goes by the name “Lady Bird” instead of Christine to defy her mother, and she longs to one day reside on the East Coast.

D.C. Walls, Painting NoMa neighborhood with color
NoMa, DC’s neighborhood connecting Union Market and Massachusetts Avenue (NoMa) has been hosting a mural festival for the past six years. The festival was formerly known as “POW! WOW!” and is now going by the name “D.C. Walls.” Multiple local and international artists assemble to paint the NoMa area with color.
