    New Swim Staff Makes a Splash

    T.C. has three new swim coaches that high expectations for the team this year. The team has taken a breath of fresh air with an entire new swim staff this year. The new coaches have lots of goals and fun practice ideas to achieve these goals so that T.C. Swim can be the best it can possibly be. The coaches want to create a balance of fun and hard work to create a competitive team for people of all skill levels.

    TC Williams Choir Hits a New High Note

    Choir Conductor Theodore Thorpe III continues to vault T.C. choir to stardom, as it was one of the elite choirs selected to participate in the Music For All National Choir Festival in Indianapolis, Indiana this spring. This festival has operated for 40 years. It invites a total of 12 choirs each year to celebrate their musical excellance. Junior choir member Ben Williams said, “To me it means that our choir is being recognized as one of the top dogs, top of the food chain.”

    For many of the past years T.C. has been over capacity, but this information is not new. Especially, since the start of the 2018-19 school year, the hallways have seemed especially crowded. The six minute passing time between each period has gone from a pleasure to a hassle due to the increasingly large classes entering the T.C. Williams main campus.

    TC English Must Reads

    “We love to read. We’re English teachers. We read all the time,” said English 10 teacher Matthew Henry. “I’m constantly coming across books that I would just love to teach.” In an environment as diverse as TC, the required reading selection must be as varied and far-reaching as the student body. When it comes to being inclusive in representing various voices in literature the TC English Department has been supportive in letting teachers choose their own adventures.

    NOVA Rapper Shaboozey Releases Debut Album

    Shaboozey, or Collins Chibueze, who was born in Northern Virginia and attended Garfield High School has just released his debut album Lady Wrangler. Shaboozey has released several songs that have gained local popularity on Soundcloud and Apple Music including Jeff Gordon, Starfoxx, and Winning Streak. Lady Wrangler released on October 5, with 11 tracks totalling forty minutes, this was the first real attempt Shaboozey has made making a large production album. On September 9, Shaboozey performed at Day N Night Festival in Anaheim, California where he did something most artists would not regularly do.
