Budding Artists Show Off their Masterpieces in Gallery Walks

Last week, ACPS held a reception and gallery walk to celebrate 51 student artists whose work was installed in the School Board meeting room for the upcoming school year. Each year a selection of student works is chosen by art instructors to be a part of the exhibit. The works, some of which are compilations, represent the talents of students from each of our schools.

The School Board meeting room is accessible during School Board meetings and events.

Additionally, more than 80 works of art from Jefferson-Houston students went on display at the Durant Center at 1065 Cameron St. on June 6. The students were celebrated at an art opening that evening. The works will be on exhibit through August 1.

More than 80 works of art were also exhibited at the Ninth Annual Youth Arts Festival on June 2, hosted by the Alexandria Redevelopment and Housing Authority in coordination with ACPS, Alexandria Recreation, Parks and Cultural Activities, and community organizations.
