Students at Matthew Maury Elementary School now understand what it’s like for many children around the world who don’t have easy access to water. Last Monday they carried bottles of water — some large, some small — around Maury’s track to raise awareness of the world’s growing water crisis and raise money for a high school in South Africa.

Walk Zone Improvements Proposed for High School Students
ACPS is proposing to adjust the distance that high school students will need to walk to school next year. Starting in September 2019, all high school students will have to walk a maximum of 1.5 miles no matter where they live, if the changes are approved by the Alexandria City School Board.
