Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr. is hosting three Listening and Learning sessions for staff in January.
All staff, including teachers, support staff and any other staff who work in our buildings are welcome to attend the sessions. The superintendent will be hosting three Listening and Learning sessions:
Tuesday, January 8 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the third floor at Central Office
Tuesday, January 15 from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in the library at Francis C. Hammond Middle School
Thursday, January 17 from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in the cafeteria at George Washington Middle School
Wednesday, January 23, in the cafeteria at T.C. Williams High School (canceled)
Over the past few months Dr. Hutchings has been out and about listening to various voices in the community and now it’s your turn. With a full semester under your belts and grading out of the way, Dr. Hutchings is hoping that you will have experienced him in action in the lead role for sufficient time to have opinions about what is working and what still needs work in our school division. Your observations will be that much more valuable, being based on your present experiences under his leadership and not in the past.
The Listening and Learning Tour is part of Dr. Hutchings’ 100-Day Entry Plan and is providing an opportunity for families, community members and staff to share ideas and build relationships that will continue to move us forward as a school division. Dr. Hutchings will report out on his findings from his first 100 days on January 30 at T.C. Williams High School.
