Chanel Alford-Campbell, Technology Integration Specialist at Francis C. Hammond Middle School, has been honored for her creativity when it comes to professional development.
Alford-Campbell was named as a 2019 NextGeneration Leader at the Consortium for School Networking’s (CoSN) annual conference for creating a database of modules designed to work alongside and enhance the technological toolkit of fellow educators.
Each customized module introduces a new application and includes a practical quiz before it is applied in the classroom.
This novel professional development strategy has enhanced learning in and out of the classroom by familiarizing teachers with the benefits of programs like Google Apps for Education, WeVideo, and Canvas.
Alford-Campbell’s approach to professional development is seeing results and gaining momentum. Various subject teachers at Francis C. Hammond have started using different technology in their instruction. Modules are beginning to be used by other schools in the division.
