If you’ve slipped off track with your health and wellness New Year’s resolutions, we’ve got just the thing for you: free barre3 yoga sessions are coming soon to ACPS.
Four yoga sessions will be offered at three ACPS sites, thanks to Bbarre3 in Old Town. barre3 offers heart-pumping, full-body workouts that are a cross between yoga and dance. The sessions are meant for everyone and you can do as little or as much as you like.
All sessions are free, open to all ACPS employees. Choose the locations and sessions that work for you:
T.C. Williams High School – Dance Studio | Mondays 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. |
February 26, March 5, 12 and 19 |
Central Office – Third Floor | Wednesdays 4 to 5 p.m. |
February 28, March 7, 14 and 21 |
John Adams Elementary School | Thursdays 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. |
March 1, 8, 15 and 22 |
Please bring water and a yoga mat, if possible, and wear loose comfortable clothing. A few additional yoga mats will be brought by the instructor.
If yoga is not your thing, there is always the gym!
ACPS employees can enjoy free use of all gyms at the recreation centers in the City of Alexandria, including the pool at Chinquapin Park Recreation Center. Just show your badge when you sign in at the front desk. View a list of all Alexandria the recreational centers.
Health and wellness are part of the ACPS 2020 Strategic Plan. Through the plan, ACPS pledges to promote efforts to enable students to be healthy and ready to learn. And, healthy staff members are great examples for their students.
