Are you looking for an engaging professional development opportunity this summer? If so, sign up for the first annual Blended Learning Camp held this August.
Participants will have the chance to experiment with new technology as well as participate in enrichment opportunities to explore your devices in new ways. This two-day event will provide the opportunity to interact with technology to enhance blended learning in your classroom.
ACPS defines blended learning as “the deliberate connection of educational technology with face-to-face instruction to enhance a personalized and meaningful curriculum.” Students in grades 4-12 will be receiving Chromebooks at the start of the 2016-2017 school year. In preparation for the roll out of Chromebooks to these grades, we want teachers to be equipped with essential tools to utilize 1:1 computers for blended learning in their classrooms. For more information, watch this this blended learning video:
During the two day professional development seminar, participants can attend sessions from ACPS teacher presenters on instructional strategies, interactive assessments and tools such as Nearpod, Google Apps for Education and WeVideo.
In addition, each day will kick-off with keynote speakers Stacy Hawthorne and Bradley Lands. Stacy Hawthorne is the lead strategist at Hawthorne Education. Stacy works with schools to design and implement an educational approach for technology in the classroom. Bradley Lands works with students and educators to successfully integrate technology for teaching and learning.
