What are the ACPS procedures and guidelines for special education? Learn how to schedule and organize your school year to meet all IEP and eligibility timelines. Learn the process to determine Extended School Year (ESY) eligibility in accordance with Virginia Department of Education guidelines. #14968
Reading and Writing Workshop Twitter Sessions
How can we refine our implementation of reading and writing workshop to better support our learners? How can we learn from colleagues who are implementing a reading and writing workshop? During this online workshop, ACPS teachers will engage in professional discourse about how to use a workshop approach to teach students in ways that increase students’ reading and writing proficiency. The Twitter chats are facilitated by staff developers from Teachers College Reading and Writing Project TCRWP. Teachers across the country engage in the discussion. By the end of the session, all participants will be able to create or claim one new strategy to help them better reach students as they implement reading or writing workshop. Tricks and Tools for PLMS Course Creation
How can Professional Learning Management System (PLMS) course creators build courses to best fit their school’s needs? What features are available within PLMS to organize and advertise our professional learning? This course will support course creators to better organize and advertise professional learning opportunities at your school. Participants will learn ways to target courses to specific audiences, create sections that can be replicated, take attendance and manage access to courses. This course good for those new to course creation or as a refresher for established course creators. #14796
