TestNav8 and Reading Strategies for the Reading SOL Grades 6-12
Essential Question: How has the new TestNav8 platform changed and how can we teach students to use the new format and tools, reading strategies and test taking skills to support them on the Reading SOL test? Participants will learn the new TestNav8 platform, TEI question formats and online reading tools that are new to TextNav8. Several of the new tools will benefit all students. Additionally, teachers will leave with strategies for reviewing the skills assessed on the Reading SOL and with sample classroom ideas. #14910
Stewards of Children
How can you best respond to suspected child abuse? An evidence-informed program that teaches adults how to recognize, prevent and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. This training is led by “Darkness to Light” authorized facilitator Susan Britton, who is also a professional engaged in responding to child sexual abuse in Alexandria. #14871
aimswebPlus for School Leaders
Participants will obtain the information needed to get started with using their aimswebPlus account in a school leadership role. They will also learn to analyze spring benchmark data and determine ways to further prepare students for SOL testing. How can the data collected through the use of aimswebPlus be used to improve the reading and math achievement of students with disabilities?
Participants will:
- gain a clear understanding of what aimswebPlus benchmark screening and progress monitoring are and what they can do to support positive outcomes within the classroom/school/district
- learn how to navigate within the aimswebPlus account at the class, group and student levels, and
- gain a basic understanding of progress monitoring reports and how to interpret them. #14908
