This week’s highlighted courses:
Guided Math
Participants will learn a practical approach to teaching mathematics that integrates proven literacy strategies for effective instruction. Through this professional learning opportunity, participants will learn strategies to maximize the impact of instruction by using whole-class instruction, small-group instruction and Math Workshop. They will also gather ideas for using ongoing assessment to guide their instruction and increase student learning, and use hands-on, problem-solving experiences with small groups to encourage mathematical communication and discussion. #14606
Science Fair
How can students use evidence to solve problems? Teachers will support students presenting their science fair projects at one of the three ACPS science fairs. Teachers have the option of participating in set-up, registration, student support during the fair, or judging. Participants will gain a better understanding of the skills required for students to complete and present a successful science fair project, which is a requirement for all honors science students in grades 6-12. #14748
