Grammar Made Easy: Using Grammar Mapping and Other Context-Based Grammar Strategies

Participants who opt-into the second hour of application (on-your-own) and submit responses will have the option of receiving a copy of the book “Mechanically Inclined,” by Jeff Anderson. By the end of the session participants will be able to share at least one new way they will support the development of their students’ grammar skills. #15361
Brain Boost Time! Energizing Word Analysis Skill Review with Rigorous Movement and Poetry (3rd Grade Focus)
How can teachers bring energy to reviewing SOL word analysis skills? How can we support students in applying word analysis skills to authentic text? We tapped into the expertise of some of our very best third grade teachers to find poems and physical movements that third graders love and we bundled them into a kit of 5-minute word analysis brain boosters. Participants will learn a simple five-minute protocol they can easily implement during the instructional day to get kids moving, reading poetry, smiling and reviewing word analysis skills. Ready-to-go brain booster poetry lessons will be available to all in attendance. Educators who work with Grade 3 students will receive special kits of brain booster materials, provided by a grant from RunningBrooke. #15372
