AVID Elective Teacher Professional Learning
Teachers will explore the AVID framework, revise curriculum and experience AVID professional learning workshop modules. We will continue to explore and make connections to school education plan action plans and access possible resources to support teaching and learning for all staff and students. Additionally, collaboratively we will do a deep dive into the new Certification and Coaching Instrument, which will help to support the growth of the AVID Schoolwide model. Finally, participants will be coached as they examine next steps and progress monitoring that supports program growth while using a Plan-Do-Study-Act-model. #15064
Paraprofessionals: Supporting Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) in the Classroom
What is SDI and how can we support students with disabilities in accessing the curriculum successfully? In this training, participants will receive an overview and examples of SDI, and recommendations of how to assist teachers with implementation in the co-taught and resource classes. Participants will also learn about special education intervention programs used to support SDI and how to assist with implementation in the classroom. #15124
Engaging World Language Learners with Authentic Resources and Formative Assessment
How can we engage all world language learners in our lessons to improve their speaking and writing proficiency? What is LinguaFolio and how can we incorporate LinguaFolio to encourage our learners to actively manage their learning? In this workshop participants will learn how to use authentic resources to create and differentiate engaging activities. Additionally, participants will be introduced to LinguaFolio and how this philosophy and formative assessment tool can improve world language proficiency. #15142
Implementing the Equals Math Curriculum in Citywide Classrooms
How can the additional Equals Math materials support mastery of math skills for students in citywide classrooms? This session is ONLY for citywide teachers & paraprofessionals in autism, intellectual disability & multiple disability program classrooms. Participants will receive enhanced instruction on utilizing the Equals Math materials to support student learning needs. #15133
