Over the past two years, ACPS has been working to build a more collaborative work experience for teachers, administrators, division leaders and coaches through the Learning Forward Coaching Academy.
More than 150 educators have gone through the Coaching Academy, which uses eight days of training to dig deeply into the work of facilitating collaboration, change and teacher development in a personalized and job-embedded setting. Participants learn about building trust with teams, facilitating change, focused listening and mediating thinking through questioning, addressing resistance, facilitating professional learning communities (PLCs), leading professional development and building networks of support throughout the division.
