Schools address complex and dynamic issues every day. To effectively confront these issues requires focused conversations and decision making, and facilitation can help.
Facilitation is the act of guiding a group through process, in real-time, and inspiring and directing productive change in individuals, teams and systems. Well-crafted facilitation is a powerful tool that can open up infinite possibilities.
One key area of growth for anyone who has participated in the ACPS Coaching Academy is facilitating groups. This could mean delivering professional learning, guiding professional learning circles (PLCs) teams, or even leading a meeting of a school’s instructional leadership team.
In addition to the school-based leaders who have participated in the Coaching Academy, the Office of Talent Development is happy to provide facilitation services for a variety of settings.
Facilitation services might include:
- Leading a faculty or team retreat
- Crafting a mission or vision
- Planning and writing school improvement plans
- Leading school-wide professional learning
- Strategic planning and implementation
If you’re interested in partnering on facilitation with the Office of Talent Development, please first fill out the Facilitation Request form. This form will begin the conversation and set out a clear path for the conversations and work to be done.
