Open enrollment for health benefits will be closing on May 31, 2019. If you haven’t already reviewed your health benefits and the changes coming this next year, please do so before the window shuts. The next meeting where staff and benefit plan representatives will be available to speak with you is May 16 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Central Office in the School Board room.
Changes to this year’s benefits include:
- UnitedHealthcare QHP with a Health Savings Account will be added to ACPS existing options Kaiser HMO and UnitedHealthcare POS.
- Administrators participating in either UnitedHealthcare POS or Kaiser HMO will see an increase in the health insurance deductions.
- Support staff, including those with grade 25 or higher, will now pay only 10 percent of premiums.
- Administrators and support staff with grade 25 or higher must enroll online via Employee Self Service (ESS) even if you have no changes in your health plans. Affected employees will receive an email from the ACPS Benefits Office to enroll online via ESS.
You can also visit with Human Resources staff and benefit plan representatives at Open Enrollment Meetings on May 22 at the Francis Hammond Middle School Cafeteria for personalized attention and assistance with benefit questions and enrollment. Representatives from Kaiser, UnitedHealthcare, CareFirst, EyeMed, and 403(b) and 457 plan vendors, including ICMA-RC, the defined contribution plan administrator for the Virginia Retirement System Hybrid plan, will be in attendance.
