We are looking to recognize our great ACPS music teachers by nominating them for a GRAMMY Music Educator Award.
If you know a music teacher who fits the following criteria, please make sure you take the time to fill out a nomination for them.
A teacher nominated for a GRAMMY Music Educator Award:
- Has had a measurable impact in the lives of their students
- Has made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education
- Exemplifies the best in the field
- Is committed to maintaining music education in our schools
- Has had a significant impact on their school and community
Any current, full-time, educator in the United States who teaches music in public or private schools, kindergarten through college, can be nominated. Once a nomination has been submitted, the nominated teacher will receive an email requesting additional information.
Nominations must be submitted by March 15, 2016. The deadline for a teacher to complete their application is March 31. Quarter finalists will be notified by April 1.
Ten finalists including one winner will be recognized. The winner will be flown to Los Angeles to accept the award, attend the GRAMMYs and receive a $10,000 honorarium. All finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium.
