ACPS Curriculum and Technology Services are excited to announce an opportunity for K-3 teachers to teach their students coding in a fun and engaging way. Through the Coding in the K-3 Classroom with Dash and Dot program, teams of teachers can apply to receive Dash and Dot robot kits to promote coding in their K-3 classrooms.
Twenty teams of ACPS teachers will be selected to receive grants that provide a kit containing tools to use technology to promote deep and meaningful learning experiences through creativity, collaboration and critical thinking.
The Coding in the K-3 Classroom Kit includes:
- 4 Dash Robots
- 1 Dot Robot
- 4 iPad Minis
- 2 Accessory Packs
- 1 Building Brick Connector Set
- 1 Launcher
- 1 Xylophone
- 2 1-Year Curriculum Subscriptions to Wonder Workshop Teacher Portal
Students connect to and control the Dash and Dot robots using applications on the iPad, making learning to code fun and fostering creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.
