Each year, ACPS puts together an Academic Calendar Committee to oversee the design of the calendar for the following school year.
The Academic Calendar Committee decides when the professional days, teacher work days and holidays are scheduled throughout the year, while working within guidelines from the School Board. It is the task of this committee to create a proposed academic calendar – both Traditional and Modified – for the 2017-2018 school year.
Recommendation from the committee then goes to the School Board for approval and becomes the calendar for the following school year.
The first meeting of the Calendar Committee will be held the week of October 3-7.
