Jefferson-Houston is welcoming Mojisola Adejumo as the schools’ new assistant principal.

Adejumo was tapped to fill the assistant principal role at Jefferson-House after serving as the Title I science specialist for ACPS Title I Schools. Prior to that, she served as the school improvement coach at John Adams Elementary School for two years where she worked with administration and teachers to increase student achievement.

“We are extremely excited that Mrs. Adejumo is now part of the Jefferson-Houston family.  Her knowledge and experience, along with her commitment to the academic excellence of all students are traits that set her apart. She has quickly become a member of our school family and we look forward to all of her great ideas,” said Principal Chris Phillips

Adejumo came to ACPS from North Carolina where she taught eighth grade science for six years and served as the science department chair. She was also recruited to serve as the chair of the School Improvement Team at Moore Square Magnet Museum Middle School and served as an assistant principal at the School of Creative Studies.

“I was driven by the opportunity to strategically guide my colleagues into meaningful collaboration and true in-depth analysis of our school processes. The combination of my love for student achievement and my love for effective schooling lead me on my current path of being an effective school leader,” said Adejumo.

When she is not working with the dynamic students, staff, parents and community at Jefferson-Houston, Adejumo likes to keep her husband and three children fit with military drills she learned while serving in the United States Army.
