ACPS is eligible to receive additional federal funds, called Impact Aid, by identifying enrolled students with federal or military connections. Further, ACPS is now required by the Virginia Department of Education to report the number of students in households connected to the U.S. Military.
This month we will be contacting parents to ask them to provide this vital information.
Impact Aid is a federal program designed to assist local school districts that enroll federally-connected students. These students are:
- children of active duty uniformed services personnel
- children who live on federal property or in subsidized federal housing, or
- children whose parents work on federal property.
Elementary parents will be asked to complete the Impact Aid Student-Parent Survey on paper during their parent-teacher conferences.
Middle and high school parents will receive emails asking them to complete the survey online through their ACPS Academic Access accounts.
If you receive a completed paper form, please forward it to your school registrar.
Thank you for your support in helping ACPS collect this information and receive additional funding.
