The Alexandria City School Board is seeking input from staff in identifying the characteristics you would like to see in the next ACPS superintendent.
The search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates will be leading a series of staff forums and asking for feedback to help create the leadership profile for the next superintendent.
ALL staff members are invited to attend at least one forum.
September 11 in the School Board meeting room
- 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. Superintendent’s Leadership Team
- 2 p.m. Central Office administrators
- 3 p.m. Central Office support staff
September 21 in the T.C. Williams Rotunda
- 9:30 a.m. Principals
- 11 a.m. Assistant principals
September 21 in the John Adams Elementary School Media Center
- 4 p.m. Teachers
September 21 in the George Washington Middle School Media Center
- 4 p.m. School support staff
Other stakeholder group interviews are also being held throughout the process.
Staff members are also invited to take the Superintendent Leadership Profile Survey to let us know what qualities are important to you. The survey will be open through September 25.
In addition to the survey and stakeholder interviews, the search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates will hold four Community Forums for members of the public to give feedback and help create the leadership profile for the next superintendent.

These profile results will be presented to the School Board on Thursday, October 5 at a special called Board meeting at 7 p.m. in the School Board meeting room at 1340 Braddock Place. This meeting is open to the public.
