We know that exemplary staff is the key to success in the classroom, so ACPS is looking to find ways to grow our own awesome staff and parents into teachers.
We are looking for paras, substitute teachers, support staff and parents who have expressed an interest in becoming a teacher, who may or may not already have a college degree.
On Wednesday, April 11, the Department of Human Resources will host an information session on what it takes to become a teacher.
The session will explore alternate routes to licensure, options through the Virginia Department of Education, ACPS higher education institution partners and information about current ACPS programs that provide opportunities for current employees to become teachers.
On hand answering questions at the presentation will be:
- ACPS’ Virginia Department of Education licensure consultant from Joseph Educational Consulting Services
- Representatives from George Mason University and other partner higher education institutions
- ACPS licensure specialist, Tamiko Hudson
- ACPS Talent Development director Debra Lane
Don’t miss this great opportunity to become one of our exemplary staff!
