As the first meeting in the new year, this was the meeting where the Board was required to vote on their leadership for 2020. The Board also heard from the communications auditor and received updates on both the panel of experts for the High School Project and the new build for Douglas MacArthur Elementary School.

Alexandria Says Farewell to Legendary Titan Coach Herman Boone
A moving memorial took place at T.C. Williams High School, while the city released a proclamation declaring December 28, 2019 to be Herman Boone Day.
School Board Approves Ten Year Plan to Update Schools
The Alexandria City School Board has approved a $530.7 million ten-year plan to continue to modernize ACPS schools while also funding facilities repairs to school infrastructure. See the list of scheduled modernization projects.
T.C. Remembers Legendary Titan Coach
Herman Boone, iconic former head coach of the T.C. Williams High School 1971 championship football team, passed away on December 18, surrounded by his family and friends at the age of 84. Memorial services will be held on December 27 and 28.
