Data just released by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) show that ACPS has achieved in 2021 the highest on-time graduation rate and lowest student dropout rate since Virginia began reporting these data in 2008.

ACPS is kicking off Finding Fit, our employee wellness program, for the 2021-22 school year. The Finding Fit team is launching a kick-off event and will be bringing events and challenges to employees throughout the year to support our staff wellness. 

In recognition of National Custodian Day, we show our appreciation to the ACPS custodians who clean our schools and offices and are an integral part of our community.

It is time to salute all the dedicated ACPS principals as we observe National Principals Month.

At its meeting on September 23, 2021, the School Board approved that ACPS staff members will be required to submit documentation of their completed COVID-19 vaccination status by November 15, 2021. Learn more.

ACPS is pleased to welcome Alexander Duncan III as the next campus administrator for the Minnie Howard campus of Alexandria City High School.

Joining the ACPS staff as the new director of maintenance and custodial services is Amanda Ou, and Dr. Jasmin Whitfield is our new director of school health services.

Language Line Direct Response is a new service that allows families who speak Spanish, Amharic, Arabic, Farsi and Pashto to contact our schools with a qualified interpreter already on the line.

ACPS has health and safety mitigation measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the school division. It also has a plan for any students who need to isolate as they have been diagnosed with COVID-19, as well as students who need to quarantine as they have been identified as close contacts of someone with COVID-19.
