Staff will be required to use their ID card and fob to access all departments in Central Office as of February 15.
Under the new directive to increase safety and security at Central Office, all doors will be locked using the security system at all times both day and night.
All staff and students visiting Central Office will be required to wear their ACPS identity badge and all other visitors will be asked to sign in with security in the lobby. This is to help us ensure that all people inside the building can be identified at all times, either as a visitor who has signed in with security at the front desk or as a member of staff.
We would like to encourage all staff to wear their ACPS identity badge on an ACPS 2020 lanyard, to help promote the ACPS 2020 mission of ensuring Every Student Succeeds. If you would to have a new lanyard sent to your school, please email Hayya Shah in the Office of Communications and she will send one to your school via internal mail or pick one up in the lobby or sixth floor of Central Office. Don’t forget to let us know which of the six colors you would like.
Don’t forget that your ACPS identity badge can also get you free use of the City recreation centers across Alexandria. Use it to sign in at the front desk of the any rec centers and stay healthy in the New Year!
Thanks for supporting the ACPS mission and keeping us safe!
