For the second consecutive year, ACPS has earned the Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI).
The award recognizes organizational excellence in procurement based on innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership as relates to the procurement process. These criteria are designed to measure state of the art in best practices.
“Congratulations to Chief Financial Officer Michael Herbstman, Director of Procurement Sharon Lewis and the procurement team. This national recognition validates our steadfast commitment to effective and efficient operations and to continual improvement. Our financial services team’s dedication to fiscal responsibility ensures that our schools and community receive the best goods and services for our dollars,” said Interim Superintendent Lois F. Berlin.
ACPS is one of only 26 school districts in the United States and Canada to receive the award. The procurement team will be recognized at an award ceremony at the NPI national conference this fall.
“This award reflects the continued hard work of the Procurement team to ensure transparency and integrity throughout the procurement process, compliance with regulatory requirements and exceptional service for our staff and vendor community. As a result, we are better able to support our division’s academic goals and educational programming so that every student can be successful. It is a well-deserved honor for Sharon Lewis and her team to have received this award for a second consecutive year,” said Chief Financial Officer Michael Herbstman.
The National Procurement Institute, a national association of public procurement professionals, is dedicated to establishing and maintaining high standards of education, certification, professional development, leadership and ethics.
