ACPS welcomed a new Director of Talent Development in July. Dr. Debra Lane will be leading the development and implementation of the ACPS Professional Learning Community.
“We are delighted to welcome Dr. Debra Lane to ACPS as the new Director of Talent Development. Debra brings a wealth of experience to ACPS. We are extremely pleased to have her join the school division. She has already begun to make a difference in ACPS!” said Dr. Terri Mozingo, chief academic officer.
Lane has been an educator for more than 26 years, as a teacher and administrator in the U.S. and abroad. In addition to having served as principal at several schools, Lane taught pre-K through middle school as well as ESOL, Literacy, and Gifted and Talented classes in Fairfax County Public Schools and in the Dominican Republic. Lane also taught undergraduate and graduate classes at George Mason University and the University of Virginia.
“I am excited to collaborate with teams throughout the division to ensure seamless and aligned professional learning designed to achieve the goals outlined in the ACPS 2020 Strategic Plan and related priorities,” said Lane.
