On Monday, March 13, ACPS staff members involved in the delivery of and/or identification of students for Talented and Gifted (TAG) services (including the Young Scholars program), received an email from Chief Accountability Officer Clinton Page inviting them to participate in a survey regarding the TAG program.

ACPS values the input of staff on our school division’s TAG program and feedback will be used to make informed decisions regarding how best to ensure the delivery of a high-quality TAG program for our students.

This survey is a part of an extensive TAG Evaluation project which also includes a parent survey, classroom observations, staff focus groups, parent focus groups, student focus groups, and a materials review. ACPS has partnered with Dr. Joyce VanTassel-Baska, a renowned national researcher and scholar with expertise in gifted education, to conduct an evaluation of the TAG program, including this staff survey.

The survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Included are questions related to the TAG program identification process, program goals and objectives, communication, professional development and program support. The survey is anonymous. The research team has strict confidentiality policies and will not provide any data that are potentially personally identifiable to anyone outside of the research team.

Findings from this project are expected in fall 2017 and will only be presented at summary levels to ensure that individual respondent anonymity is maintained.

If you are a staff member involved in the delivery of and/or identification of students for Talented and Gifted (TAG) services (including the Young Scholars program) and did not receive the invitation email with the survey link, please contact the Department of Accountability at 703-619-8032 or via e-mail to christina.constantine@acps.k12.va.us.
