We would like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank our wonderful ACPS school psychologists during National School Psychology Awareness Week (November 9-13). The theme this year is “Helping Students and Families Connect the Dots to Thrive in School and Beyond.”
As you know, ACPS psychologists are members of the school staff who support students’ ability to learn and teachers’ ability to teach. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally.
ACPS psychologists provide direct support and interventions to students, such as individualized learning and behavioral assessments to identify students’ strengths and needs, academic and behavioral interventions, counseling, and crisis intervention. They also consult with teachers, families, and other educators to improve support strategies and school-wide practices and policies.
We could not reach our goal of success for every student without our school psychologists. Thank you!
