Effective July 1, CareFirst will be the new dental insurance carrier, replacing the current dental insurance carrier MetLife.
All dental participants will transition to CareFirst BlueDental Plus plan and receive a new CareFirst dental ID card. This change will provide members with access to a broad dental provider network,the same dental coverage and lower premiums.
Employees enrolled in the dental plan will receive a new ID card from CareFirst on or before July 1, 2017. This is a separate ID card from the pharmacy ID Card with CareFirst CVS/Caremark.
To find out if your dentist is in the CareFirst BlueDental Plus network, visit the ACPS portal on the CareFirst website. You may also contact CareFirst at 1-888-755-2657.
If your dentist does not participate in the CareFirst BlueDental Plus network, the dentist may contact CareFirst at 443-921-0676 to be included in the network. A dentist who participates in the network will accept CareFirst’s negotiated fees as payment in full, keeping your out of pocket cost for dental care low.
