Congratulations to the ACPS staff members who retired in 2017. The retirees were honored at a ceremony last week, during which they were celebrated for their service to our schools, our students and our community.
The retirees, whose combined total years of service equals 1,120 years, served terms ranging from 3 to 41 years. Of our 52 retirees, 27 of them served for more than 20 years. We are grateful for your long-term commitment and dedication.
“Positively impacting the life of a child is not easy work, it requires us to give of ourselves, to be role models, to inspire, listen, and help our students see beyond their immediate circumstances. One of my favorite quotes is ‘education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.’ Thank you for lighting the fire each day in your own special way,” said Superintendent Alivn L. Crawley.
