Alexandria City High School (ACHS) has been named a Blue Star School for the 2020-21 academic year by Working in Support of Education (W!se), a leading educational nonprofit. This recognition takes on special significance as we celebrate Financial Literacy Month in April.
To earn this coveted award, a school must achieve an 80% passing rate on the Financial Literacy Certification Test. In addition, the school must have either a majority of students on a given grade level receive personal finance instruction or a minimum 10% percent of school enrollment taking the Certification Test.
“Congratulations and special thanks to the Economics and Personal Finance (EPF) teachers who helped our students become Certified Financially Literate™,” said ACPS Career and Technical Education Coordinator Dr. Tricia Jacobs. “Through their instruction, the EPF teachers have given students vital knowledge about personal finance. They have also provided students with the tools they need to become financially capable young adults.”
