If you are ready to take your teaching to the next level, attend a National Board Certification information session to see if it might be right for you. Join us on Zoom either Thursday, March 31, 2022 or Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
National Board Certified Teachers (NBCT) have earned the teaching profession’s highest honor. The certification process identifies accomplished teachers through a rigorous program that includes four components: one exam and three portfolio submissions. Through NBCT, dedicated teachers demonstrate their commitment to teaching and maintaining the industry’s highest standards.

- Can lead to increased salary and leadership opportunities.
Learn more about the National Board Certification process. To be eligible for certification, applicants must:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Have at least three FULL years of teaching experience by the end of the 2020-21 school year.
- Hold a valid teaching license.
ACPS supports a two-year submission timeframe during which teachers participate in monthly meetings, are part of a professional learning community and receive support on the technical aspects of the process. ACPS also funds most of the $2,050 cost for the majority of selected candidates.
