Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

The “Supe’s Spotlight” video message with ACPS Superintendent Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr. once again shares information, thoughts and reflections from the superintendent with the ACPS community.

In recognition of Learning Disability Awareness Month in October, we want to highlight a valuable resource for families: the Anne R. Lipnick Special Education Parent Resource Center (PRC), located at the Minnie Howard Campus of Alexandria City High School. 

Breakfast and lunch are being served for all ACPS students at no cost during the 2021-22 school year, giving us a big reason to cheer during National School Lunch week, Oct. 11-15.

See a summary of the agenda from the Thursday, Oct. 7 School Board Meeting, including student supports through the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), policies related to School Board meetings, emergency preparedness, and student attendance and absences, and adoption of budget priorities for Fiscal Year 2023.

Since the beginning of the 2021-22 school year, ACPS families have been able to use the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section on the ACPS website for answers to their questions. If you have a question we have not answered, there are many ways to contact ACPS.

Data just released by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) show that ACPS has achieved in 2021 the highest on-time graduation rate and lowest student dropout rate since Virginia began reporting these data in 2008.

ACPS offers many ways for families to reach out to schools and division staff. Find out about each one, including our new phone interpretation service starting today!

In recognition of National Custodian Day, we show our appreciation to the ACPS custodians who clean our schools and offices and are an integral part of our community.

ACPS will host a virtual Community Budget Session open to all community members at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 18, 2021. Come learn about the upcoming budget process, timeline and the fiscal challenges facing ACPS.
