Academy of Health Sciences Information Session

Tuesday, November 28
6 – 7 p.m.
T.C. Williams High School Rotunda

Interpreters for Spanish, Amharic and Arabic will be available

Join us to learn more about the new Academy of Health Sciences at T.C. Williams and the new partnership between ACPS and George Washington University that gave rise to the new, expanded health sciences program.

This innovative program provides students with an opportunity to explore health sciences early in their education. Those who choose to pursue a career in health sciences and successfully complete the program will be offered guaranteed admissions to the GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences and will also be eligible for scholarships. Whether a student initiates a career pathway that leads to an associate’s and/or bachelor’s degree or earn career related industry certifications, they will be well-equipped to pursue high-demand, high-wage, high-skills health sciences careers.

Attendees will learn about:

  • How students can earn college-credit and reduce the amount of time and money needed to graduate from college
  • The pathways available and the careers to which they lead
  • How the application process will work this spring for freshmen who would enroll in fall 2018

Facilitators:

  • Sherri Chapman, ACPS Career and Technical Education Coordinator
  • Micki Coffman, ACPS Dual Enrollment Specialist
  • Laura Evans, ACPS Health and Medical Sciences Teacher
  • Linda Zanin, Director of Strategic Partnerships, George Washington University
