Alexandria City School Board has approved the selection of Keller Construction Management, LLC to lead the building of the new Patrick Henry School and recreation center.
Keller Construction Management has previously acted as the construction manager for schools built for Montgomery County Public Schools, Arlington Public Schools and schools in Washington, DC.
The company will be using the Construction Manager at Risk delivery method, which entails a commitment by the Construction Manager to deliver the project within a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) based on the construction documents and specifications at the time of the GMP, plus any reasonably inferred items or tasks.
We are excited to be working with a professional in construction management and look forward to the opportunities this collaboration brings,” said ACPS Chief Operating Officer Clarence Stukes.
The School Board voted to move ahead with the preferred design for the project in May. The new school and recreation center are expected to be completed in the fall of 2018.
The Patrick Henry Advisory Group will continue to review floor plans for the school as well as site plans submitted to the City as part of the Development Special Use Permit process during the summer.
A full outline of the project is available on the Patrick Henry Project web page, where it is also possible to sign up for email updates of the project and meeting dates.
