Last week, in classrooms throughout ACPS, students celebrated Constitution Week, the commemoration of the United States Constitution, the signing of which marks the 231st birthday of our country.
Students from Mount Vernon Community School, T.C. Williams High School, Samuel W. Tucker Elementary School and Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy along with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gregory C. Hutchings, Jr., school staff, Council members and members of five local Daughters of the Revolution chapters attended the signing of the official Proclamation commemorating Constitution Week, September 17–23, 2018, at City Hall.

Happy #ConstitutionDay To celebrate this important day we read the fantastic @DavidCatrow book “We the Kids” and created our own books. Fun ways to help children understand some of the big ideas found in the U.S. Constitution. @MacArthurACPS @ACPSk12 pic.twitter.com/iM1ij6YiKU
