As a nine-year-old, Layla would tag along with her mother to the polls on Election Day in Meknes, Morocco. She would watch her mom put an “x” in a box and knew it was important, long before she understood why. Now a high school senior, Layla understands why. When the polls open this Tuesday, she’ll be helping Alexandria voters make their voices heard on Election Day.
