More than 1,200 students from Francis C. Hammond and George Washington middle schools recently participated in the National History Day Contest. The top two winners from each category head to the Division V regional competition on March 3.

Revised School Accreditation and Graduation Requirements for 2018-19
The Virginia Board of Education has revised state requirements for schools to meet accreditation and for students to graduate. The revisions will go into effect in the 2018-19 school year.
