New Way to Give Parents Greater Control Over Online Activities on School-Issued Devices
Newly launched Securly Parent Portal allows parents to monitor their child’s online activity outside of school and view their child’s keyword searches, sites visited and videos watched, and add additional restrictions. It also provides ACPS with improved monitoring tools to detect potential self-harm, cyberbullying and violence.

Last week, 18 students with disabilities from Francis C. Hammond Middle School participated in the Meet in the Middle Feet Meet — a Special Olympics Virginia celebration where athletes and partners participate together, creating a more inclusive community for all.
Field Trips and Instrument Rentals Can Now Be Paid for Online
ACPS is now offering a new program at T.C. Williams, Hammond and Tucker that will enable families to make online payments for student fees such as instrument rentals, field trips, athletic fees, activities fees and more. The program will be rolled out to additional schools through December.
ACPS Sees More Schools Fully Accredited
Fourteen schools within ACPS are anticipated to be fully accredited for the 2018-19 school year — two more than last year, with William Ramsay Elementary School and Francis C. Hammond Middle School both attaining full accreditation status this year.
