Overcoming Difficult Odds to Become a National Braille Champion
When Noa arrived in Alexandria at the age of six, he hadn’t spoken at school for three years. He was blind since birth and selectively mute. Now he’s a fourth-grade student at Mount Vernon Community School and a national braille champion.
ACPS Sees More Schools Fully Accredited
Fourteen schools within ACPS are anticipated to be fully accredited for the 2018-19 school year — two more than last year, with William Ramsay Elementary School and Francis C. Hammond Middle School both attaining full accreditation status this year.
